Come See Damien Tonight

Tonight, at 6:00 p.m., in Roy Irving Theatre, this one-man play will be performed by Saint Peter’s own Casey Groves.

Come see the true story of the heroic Catholic priest who was a fountain of light to those suffering the darkness of leprosy on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai in the 1800s. This play is presented to honor Fr. Damien, who will be canonized a Saint in the Catholic Church on October 11 for his work among those afflicted with Hansen’s Disease, better known as leprosy.

Damien has been adopted by those with HIV and AIDS as their unofficial patron. Admission is free; a $5 donation is suggested. For more informatin, contact Fr. Michael Braden, vice president of mission and ministry (mbraden@spc.edu).
