Tell Your Students

Tell your students about these two exciting opportunities to win $400 total prize money. Essay questions (600-800 words typed) and Video Submissions (DVD, no more than 5 minutes long) will be accepted, answering one of the following two questions : What are green jobs and how are these relevant to college students? or, What is “nature deficit disorder” and how has it influenced young people?

Winners will present their works at the Focus the Nation Teach-In February 10, 2010 at 12 noon in McIntyre. Contact Ernabel Demillo (edemillo@spc.edu) or Doug Demeo (ddemeo@spc.edu) for more information.

Also, the Office of Student Activities is looking for nominations for the Emerging Leaders Program. This leadership training program is geared toward first year students or students who have limited leadership experience. Students selected for the program will participate in training workshops and will be matched to a faculty/administrator mentor as well as an upper class student mentor.
