Tomorrow: Third Annual Media and History Conference

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Pope Lecture Hall

Everyone is invited to this conference, which features two lectures and two panels. At 10:00 a.m., Patrick S. Washburn, Ph.D., professor of journalism at Ohio University, will speak on “The Rise and Fall of the Warriors: Black Newspapers in the 20th Century,” and at 2:00 p.m., Jeff Yang, an author, will discuss “Reflecting Reality: The Long, Slow Journey Toward a Truly Multicultural Media.” The two panels will be held at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Panelists will include Alex Trillo, Ph.D., Fatima Shaik, William Pettigrew and Stephanie Danis. Faculty are encouraged to bring their classes.

The library has a special exhibit through the end of the week, developed in conjunction with the Media and History Conference. Located in the first floor display case, this exhibit features award-winning articles and photographs from the local community and ethnic media.
