Dr. Twersky Presents at New Jersey Academy of Science Annual Meeting

On April 24, 2010, Laura Twersky, Ph.D., associate professor of biology, presented two research topics at the annual meeting of the New Jersey Academy of Science. The conference was held at Kean University, in Union, New Jersey. Dr. Twersky’s first presentation was with students Ajin Mathew and Anand Patel, and titled “Effects of Thymosin Alpha 1 on Tail Regeneration in Xenopus Laevis Tadpoles.” The second presentation was in collaboration with Jessica Epstein, Ph.D., assistant professor of chemistry, and involved three students as co-authors as well: Frances DeMichele, Justin LoRe and Aqsa Yamin. This presentation was titled “Studies on the Metabolism and Physiological Effect of Sucralose and Stevia Extracts.” Additional participants included guests from Seton Hall University, Rutgers University, Montclair State University, Monmouth University and Kean University.
