Photography Exhibit: Hill of Crosses by Paul Almonte

The Hill of Crosses (Kryziu Kalnas) in northern Lithuania is a shrine where people have come to place crosses, crucifixes, and other religious icons in honor of loved ones for hundreds of years. Pope John Paul visited the site in the early 1990s and today the Hill of Crosses remains a pilgrimage site for people from all over the world. The images in this exhibit are some of the photographs taken by Assistant Professor of English Paul Almonte, Ph.D., during his time volunteer teaching at LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania. They can be viewed through April 16, 2010, in the Saint Peter's College English Department (3rd Floor, Loyola Hall).
